Dome under a bright sun

The Botanical Garden is 35 minutes away on the bike trail. Its recent expansion outside the dome has created a stunning landscape both in and around a series of ponds. Every species with a July bloom is showing off right now, and a noontime visit under the sun, intermittently shaded by small clouds, is a multicolored treat for the eyes.

Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) bloom spectacularly with hubcap-sized leaves waving above the water.

These giant water lilies, Victoria amazonica, can support a person when full-sized.
